BaZi means “Eight Characters.”
These come from four pillars, each made of:
- Heavenly Stem (elemental expression)
- Earthly Branch (animal + hidden elements)

the Heavenly Stem of your Day Pillar.
This is your true elemental identity, not your Zodiac animal.
Five Possible Day Masters

- 🔥 Fire Day Master
- 🟤 Earth Day Master
- ⚙️ Metal Day Master
- 💧 Water Day Master
Everything in your chart is interpreted relative to this element.
3️⃣ The 10 Gods
(Wu Xing in Motion)
BaZi uses Wu Xing relationships to define life themes, called the 10 Gods.

Example (Water Day Master 💧)

This is how BaZi explains:

4️⃣ Where the Zodiac Fits In (Correctly)
Your Zodiac animal comes from the Year Branch, but BaZi shows:
- That animal has hidden elements
- Those elements may support or weaken your Day Master
Example: Dragon 🐉 (Earth Branch)
Hidden inside Dragon:
- Earth (main)
- Wood
- Water
So a Water Day Master born in a Dragon year:
- Gets some support (Water)
- Some pressure (Earth)
- Some growth (Wood)
➡️ This is why two “Dragons” live very different lives.
5️⃣ Element Balance = Destiny Pattern
BaZi is fundamentally about elemental balance, not luck.
Strong Day Master
- Needs control or output to stay balanced
- Too much support = laziness
Weak Day Master
- Needs support and generation
- Too much control = burnout

6️⃣ Luck Pillars (Why Life Changes in Phases)
BaZi uses 10-year Luck Pillars, each adding a new element.
You don’t change — the environmental element does.
Example:
- A Metal Luck Pillar may be incredible for a Water Day Master
- The same pillar may be brutal for a Wood Day Master
This is Wu Xing time mechanics.
